This weeks selected Favorite Film Friday is made by a twitter travel friend of mine Celeste Brash who is a Lonely Planet Travel Editor. I got to meet Celeste this past summer as she traveled through Halifax updating the Lonely Planet Guide book for the Atlantic provinces (pretty cool if I do say so myself!).

Celeste lived in the French Polynesian for 15 years with her family and on more than one occasion had the opportunity to witness some amazing surf competitions in Tahiti at the world famous village called “Teahupo’o” (chow-po is kind of how its pronounced in Cailin created phonetics). Although this destination and it’s famous wave didn’t become as famous until the late 90’s it is said to be one of the best places to surf in the world. If you are a fan of surfing there is no way that you haven’t heard of Teahupo’o. Watch as Celeste tells us more about the village, the wave and she watches one of Tahiti’s locals go up against World Champions.
