The other day on CailinTravels.com I wrote about how I am sometimes a last minute traveler. As I write this I am sitting in a hostel in Seattle, Washington on a last minute trip to the Pacific North West of the USA.

This past week the Nomading Film Festival was holding their “Winter Recess” in Portland, Oregon and not only did I think it would be awesome to attend but what would be more awesome than attend but not tell anyone I was coming? Well I told Tawny and Chris from Captain and Clark and they were my co-conspirators.

This was a last minute trip so there wasn’t much planning but while I sat in Toronto’s Pearson airport on a long stop over I uploaded my newest Noffbassador Assignment video and I wrote on Facebook “I wish I could be there!” talking about “missing” the winter recess in Portland.

I flew to Seattle staying in the great American Hotel – HI Hostel in Chinatown and drove to Portland, Oregon early that next morning with Tawny and Chris. We toured around Portland for the day eating VooDoo Doughnuts, walking along the waterfront and eating yummy mexican food all while on the look out, not wanting to run into the Noff guys.

I spent the night in the eco-friendly Hawthorne HI Hostel excited with the idea that I would surprise everyone the next day and hoping they hadn’t found me out from a foursquare check-in or a slip up somewhere.

The next morning we did more touristy things and then while stopping for a coffee an hour before the film screening I was almost seen by one of the guys, but mine and Tawny’s quick thinking and the tint on her cars windows saved me from being seen.

To see if I was able to surprise the guys I guess you will just have to watch the video. I hope you enjoy.
