Every week here at Travel Yourself I scour the internets in search of a great new (new to me at least) travel related video or any old video that I think just must be shared. If you come across any that you think I should share please tell about it the comments or send me an email to: cailinoneil (at) travelyourself dot ca .
I came across today’s video when reading a new post from my travel blogging friend Ayngelina of www.BacondIsMagic.ca (fellow Canuck and Nova Scotia FTW!). Recently Angelina visited Churchill, Manitoba which is affectionately known as the Polar Bear Capital of the world. However there aren’t any Polar Bears in this video which was filmed by Manitoba tourism while Ayngelina was visiting, this video features Beluga Whales!
Ayngelina says “…thousands of beluga whales migrate hereĀ in the summer to feed, give birth and molt their skin.”
This video is pretty freaking awesome. A few years back I visited Marine Land at Niagara Falls and got to pet and feed a Beluga, but I had never thought about seeing one in the wild. If you asked me before where Belugas can be found in the wild, I probably would of had no idea! But thanks to Ayngelina now I know and now I really really really want to visit Churchill not only for the Polar Bears but also for the Belugas. I hope you enjoy this video too!
