Osheaga 2012 Concert and Snoop Lion

Saving ourselves from the rain, wearing garbage bags as jackets at Osheaga

This past weekend I went on a two night trip to Montreal (thanks to Montreal Tourism and Tourisme Quebec) where I met up with my good friend Ayngelina and we partied and hung out at one of the biggest music festivals in North America called “Osheaga”.  Now in its 5th year Osheaga was held over 3 days, with 105 of the best bands, across 5 stages on Île Sainte-Hélène in downtown Montreal.

However readers even though there was a tremendously stellar lineup you may be surprised to learn that the artist I was most excited to see was Snoop Lion formerly known as the one and only Snoop Dogg. I remember when I was in elementary school listening to his music in my friends basement or watching it on the Much Music countdown which my sister of course had recorded on a VHS tape and we would replay it over and over.

It was a great weekend, an awesome concert and I will write more about it later, but for now enjoy this small little clip filmed with my Nikon D5100 of Snoop Dogg officially calling himself “Snoop Lion” or as he sometime referred to himself as being “Snoop Li Li”. Crazy.

If the video isn’t playing correctly please follow the link to see it on YouTube.

Filmed with a Nikon D5100 using a 17-55mm lens.

Ahhhhh! I’m so jealous that you got to go! I’ve been attending Osheaga since 2010 – I actually saw Snoop DOGG perform at my first Osheaga- WAS FRONT ROW!

I was super bummed about missing Sigur Ros though…. I am captivated by their sound and have always seemed to miss their live shows, no matter where in the world I seem to be.

Oh man front row at that concert would of been awesome but possibly painful from so many people pushing on you? haha

I missed Sigur Ros too, we delayed ourselves because of the rain and missed them. :(
