One of the coolest places that I visited on Vancou

One of the coolest places that I visited on Vancouver Island was the @malahatskywalk just outside of Victoria.

The Skywalk is “… an accessible 600m TreeWalk through a beautiful arbutus forest leading to a spectacular gentle spiral ramp that takes you up 32m to a sightseeing lookout offering views of Finlayson Arm, Saanich Peninsula, Mount Baker and the distant Coast Mountains.” Located on the traditional territory of the Malahat Nation.

It is such a peaceful walk with art and information along the way to this stunning structure. It kind of reminds me of the Vessel in NYC. To get to the top it’s a slight ramp and easy to walk, not exhausting at all. It was also built with accessibility and sustainability in mind.

The Malahat Skywalk opened in summer 2021 and is open year round! I highly recommend you check it out and give yourself a couple hours to explore.

Feeling cute at the @thebutchartgardens my first stop after getting off the @bcferries on Vancouver Island!

Originally a limestone quarry over 100+ years ago this beautiful property was transformed into the stunning gardens they are today. Still family owned they have thousands of flowers, plants and trees that change with the seasons. I was lucky enough to visit in spring when it was bursting with colourful tulips and there were a few cherry blossoms too!

I definitely recommend a visit!

Hello from British Columbia!!

This is my first big trip since February 1, 2020! My first time outside of Atlantic Canada in over two years. Crazy.

I flew here on the new @aircanada non-stop flights from Halifax to Vancouver. It was so nice to not have to layover in Toronto or Montreal! I spent my first night in Vancouver where I ate some delicious food and stayed at the @listelvancouver hotel.

The Listel is an art gallery hotel with every room housing art from a different artist from around the world. It’s also located in central Vancouver only 15 mins to Canada place and near to Stanley Park. There are also lots of great food options near by.

After my one night in the city I took a ferry to Vancouver island where I am now. Stay tuned for more from here! ❤️

Spring is here! I’m starting to finally plan big

Spring is here! I’m starting to finally plan bigger travels just as some of my favourite places reopen for the summer at home! It’s hard wanting to travel in the summer as it’s also when Nova Scotia is at its very best!!

I’m hoping to travel soon to Vancouver Island, Bar Harbour, Maine and maybe Ireland?!?! 🤷🏻‍♀️❤️

Hello from home in Nova Scotia! We are two days aw

Hello from home in Nova Scotia! We are two days away from the two year anniversary of the beginning of lockdowns and the pandemic here. Also “coincidentally” the anniversary of my first anxiety attack. Or was it my second because maybe I had my first while in Sri Lanka a month earlier and things were starting to look bad and I only stayed there for 48hrs? 🤷🏻‍♀️ That’s a verrrrrry lonnng way to go for 48hrs 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

Since then I’ve had a few more anxiety issues that I had previously never dealt with before in life. But I am thankful to Drs and Canadian health care that I seem to be fine now! (Fingers crossed and good medicine lol).

Aside from flying to Newfoundland in December 2021 I haven’t been further than a 6 hour drive from home these past two years. Things are looking better though, I’m feeling better and I’m starting to plan travels soon!

In the next few months I hope to visit Newfoundland again, I’m dying to visit Vancouver Island and I think my lovely Ireland is calling me for a visit! All of course paired with more local travels to create content for @novascotiaexplorer around @visitnovascotia, @tourismpei and @destinationnb

As we have yet ANOTHER snow storm here in Nova Scotia today I’m starting to dream about my next trip!

Do I keep it local and stay at a gorgeous property like the @seasidecottagesgingerhill in Lockeport, Nova Scotia seen in these pictures?

Or do I take the current @westjet deal and hear to a Ireland for a few weeks in May? Or do I go to Vancouver Island to explore? Or plan a summer visit to PEI?? What should I do??
