Jordan (aka The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan) is most popular for its number one tourist attraction, the ancient city of Petra. However on my trip through the country with G Adventures I quickly learned that Petra is quite literally just the tip of the iceberg of the awesomeness that is Jordan.
Petra of course is amazing in its own right and was probably my favourite stop on the tour but everything else was pretty great as well. We strolled through the ancient streets of Jerash in the North of the country, floated in the Dead Sea, snorkelled in the Red Sea then laid by the water seeing the mountains of Saudi Arabia to the left, Egypt across the sea in front of me and Israel to the right (unreal). I also spent the night in a Bedouin camp in the middle of nowhere in the famous Wadi Rum desert and of course I ate some of the BEST hummus of my life along with trying falafel for the very first time!
I think I probably say this after every trip, but Jordan is definitely a country that I want to visit again and spend more time in.
Are you planning on visiting Jordan soon or has the thought ever crossed your mind? I’ve made a quick 1minute video of the highlights of the country and what makes it so awesome. Check it out and tell me if it makes you want to visit even more.
Do you have questions about the tour or traveling in Jordan just any general? Any question is a great question! Please either leave a comment below or send me an email cailinoneil AT travelyourself.ca
My trip was provided for me by the Visit Jordan Tourism Board and G Adventures. At no point did they ask for a favourable view, amazing photos or for me to explore this ancient site with a childlike wonder. All views expressed as always are my own.
