While in Costa Rica I saw a lot of lizards of all sizes including this guy who had clearly been in a few scraps in his life time. There were also the two lizards that I watched fight with each other in the gutter outside of my room essentially distracting me from seeing the racoon break into my room to then later give me the fright of my life when I went back inside. Thats a story for a different day though.
These guys were lazy in the hot sun and didn’t appear to be threatening towards humans. They let you get amazingly close to them for photos but if you got too close they would run away. Still scary though, and not necessarily something you want to cross your path at night.
Are you a fan of lizards?
