Traditional Argentinian food is dominated by beef but, luckily for vegetarians, it is also home to the empanada. Salta is said to have the best in the country, and we certainly enjoyed our fair share during our time there. These were from Patio de las Empanadas (corner of San Martín & Islas Malvinas), a collection of empanada stalls fiercely popular with locals who gather to share docenas (12 empanadas) and litres of coke.
