A couple weeks ago Cailin traveled an hour from Halifax to Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia with Candice to go tidal bore rafting at the Tidal Bore Rafting Park & Cottages . The Shubenacadie river is one of only 8 rivers in the whole world where you can go tidal bore rafting. 3 of the rivers (including the Shubenacadie River) are on the Bay of Fundy where the highest tides in the world rush up the rivers causing the tidal bore. When the tide comes in you are in for a wild ride as seen in Travel Yourself’s latest video.

October 21, 2010 at 1:28 pmThis is so cool! I’ve never heard of tidal bores, let alone tidal bore rafting. Pretty amazing that the water can go from shallow and placid to wild rapids in such a short time. Looks like you ladies had a blast!

October 6, 2010 at 9:27 pmHi Cailin!
Seems you had quite some fun hanging out with Candice and trying tidal bore rafting! Next step would be to try tidal bore surfing in the Pororoca (Brazil)- have you considered it?
