Condiment – something used to give a special flavor to food, as mustard, ketchup, salt, or spices.
This weeks Instagram Food Photos series is focusing on CONDIMENTS. If there is one thing that makes all of the foods in the world similar to each other it would be the use of condiments. All around the world they are used to flavor and give meals that extra kick.
To learn more about this lovely “add on” to any delicious dish read this article “Condiments from Around the World (And Why They Matter)” by Jodi Ettenberg a contributor for The Taste Of Travel.

March 12, 2012 at 11:21 pmThat first picture is hilarious. I’ve gotten addicted to this hot sauce from Belize called Marie Sharpe’s. We have family friends that go to Belize every year and they always bring us back a bottle.

March 12, 2012 at 11:35 pm@Alouise: I bet you would go crazy for that stuff if you didn’t have friends who could bring it to you right? That use to be me with these Australian cookies called Tim Tams but now they sell them here at home so I’m all set. Before I use to bring like 10 packs home with me haha

March 12, 2012 at 9:13 pmLOVE Himalayan pink salt. It’s also supposed to help with allergies. I think my favorite condiment is tamarind chutney and Indian lime pickles. But I have an Indian food obsession.
