This year, 2012 has been a crazy year of travel for me and it isn’t over yet. Tomorrow I fly to NYC which is just the beginning of my journey to visit South Africa for the first time ever. I have visited the continent of Africa before when I did a short trip to Tangier, Morocco back in 2009 (so that “continent” has already been checked off the list) but on Monday morning when I step foot outside the ground at the Johannesburg airport after my 15 hourish plane ride with South African Airways direct from New York, I will be stepping foot into my 5th continent visited this year alone!
As a kid growing up and watching The Lion King and other movies I have always dreamt of going on an African Safari to see the “big 5” in the wild. (Elephant, Lion, Buffalo, Rhinoceros and Leopard). Now, thanks to the South Africa Tourism board I have a chance to do just that and a whole lot more.
On this Press Trip I will be traveling with good blogger friends of mine Kate McCulley from www.AdventurousKate.com, Michael Hodson from www.GoSeeWrite.com, Mike Richards from www.Vagabondish.com and JD of www.EarthXplorer.com. Aside from a four day 5 star Safari at the &Beyond Ngala Safari Lodge we will also be doing the following:
– Going on a Hot air balloon Safari (weather permitting) 
– Going on SAB world of beer tour
– Hang out with rescued penguins
– Visiting the Apartheid Museum
– Attempting the Orlando Towers – Urban Bungee Jump (not me! haha)
– Taking a 27 hour ride on the Blue Train – one of the classiest trains in the WORLD (They even have full sized tubs! On a train! Crazy!)
– Going on a city tour of Cape Town and taking the tram to the top of Table Mountain
– Riding a Blokart
– Paragliding!
and a whole lot more! I am beyond excited, I’m like a little kid in a candy store. I don’t think I ever imagined in my wildest dreams that I would get to do a trip like this through South Africa. Pinch me!
