Snake Fruit aka Salak – Daily Food Photo

While traveling through Indonesia I heard about Snake Fruit ( In Indonesia its referred to as Salak) a few times and was curious to see what it was like. While stopping at a museum in East Java I came across this lady who was selling the fruit. I was amazed at how much it the skin of the fruit did actually look like a snake. I wasn’t about to buy a whole bunch of them, but this old lady gave me one free to try. I peeled off the snake like skin of the fruit and bit in and was surprised by the sweet taste.

I could of eaten a lot more!
