On my recent trip to Jordan I decided to try out the new video app for iPhones called “Vine“. Owned by Twitter it is a neat little app that lets you take 6 second videos with either one continuous shot or many quick shots to make one continuous 6 second video. I’m not sure if it is an app that will catch on or not but I really like it for sending out quick tidbits of my day and travels to my audience.
While in Jordan I posted many Vines on my account “Cailin O’Neil” and I was also sharing them on the “G Adventures” account. Here are some of my favourites and if you are on Vine too please give me a follow!
Some of these are best with audio – and others aren’t :) Turn the audio on and off for each one by clicking the speaker button in the top right of each video panel.
The Petra videos are probably my favourite. The one I made for the G Adventures Vine might be the best.
While in Jordan I ate so much amazing hummus and falafels – my favorite were at the popular Hashem Restaurant in downtown Amman.
I need to learn how to keep my hand from shaking when I make these videos. I’m starting to get the hang of it though. :)
We visited a cool place near Mt Nebo that made amazing mosaics.
A crazy good mezza meal in Amman at a restaurant called “The Windmill”.
A view of the Dead Sea and Israel!
Riding through the Wadi Rum desert on the back of a pickup truck with new friends from my G Adventures tour.
A Bedouin sings us a welcome song in the Wadi Rum desert.

My trip was provided for me by the Visit Jordan Tourism Board and G Adventures. At no point did they ask for a favourable view, amazing photos or for me to explore this ancient site with a childlike wonder. All views expressed as always are my own.

April 23, 2013 at 10:50 pmLove the clips you captured! One of my favorites is the one with the food being set down. I need to play around with Vine more, but it’s a lot of fun though!

April 22, 2013 at 9:32 pmBig fan of Vine! Cool to see you partnering with G Adventures for this trip. I joined Vine right off the bat because I was already using a similar app called Loopcam (from Berlin) which does essentially the same thing. Vine obviously has a much larger reach, though! I really like your first one :)
